Insight into delay based reservoir computing via eigenvalue analysis

Abstract In this paper we give a profound insight into the computation capability of delay based reservoir computing via an eigenvalue analysis. We concentrate on task-independent memory capacity to quantify performance and compare these with spectrum dynamical system. show that two quantities are deeply connected, thus is predictable by analysing small signal response reservoir. Our results suggest any system used as can be analysed in way. apply our method exemplarily photonic laser feedback numerically computed recall capabilities spectrum. Optimal found for eigenvalues having real parts close zero off-resonant imaginary parts.
